My question is how to get the cauldron. do you need like an level of tech or something to get it??

to get the cauldron you must have level 2 of exploration, once you buy that technology, look at the pile of wood in the lower left corner, drag a villager until their message says "this villager sees something" drop the villager they will pick it up and carry it to the fire.. ALSO with level 2 of exploration there will be a SMALL rock, looks like 3 small rocks sitting together, those are up in the graveyard area near the blue rose flower, take a scientist up to them and they will pick them up to make tools, they will need flexable wood, take them back to the roots that are showing and they will gather roots and make tools..
